People often ask me:

"How did you think up such an idea for a podcast?"

Back in my 20s, when I was in charge of building the subscriber base for the San Francisco Opera, I would spend my 9-5 writing marketing copy, analyzing user data, and A/B testing email subject lines. Then, I'd clock out of work and run down the street to rehearse in an opera production with Pocket Opera: performing, acting, and singing in different languages. I'd toggle between left-brain and right-brain, and in both of these big areas of my life, the skills required were wildly different.

After that job, I went to business school, worked at Apple, and led marketing at two tech startups...all while building a singing career in parallel.

At some point I asked a friend (also working in tech and a classically-trained singer):

"Where are the other people like us?"

The Ampersand Manifesto is the quest to find others like us.

People who are making their mark in multiple fields, which on the surface might seem pretty different: medicine & music, dance & science, business & fiction writing.

But there's always a deeper throughline.

There are wild, wonderful things to come out of connecting different worlds.

We go into all of this in the podcast.

If you're intrigued, come join us.
